On 5-7 August
2005, several of NESC’s members journeyed down to Horseshoe
Point in Pattaya, Thailand to compete in the FEI World Jumping
Challenge and the International Riding School Invitational.
Even though the
first day had a rough start, with many of the NESC ponies and
horses excited about being away from the stable for the first
time, NESC competitors still managed to win some ribbons in
jumping. Although she did not compete, Alex Palmer’s help was
much appreciated, as she was instrumental in calming the ponies.
The next day, NESC riders successfully regrouped for the
dressage competition.

Summer Camp Fun at NESC
NESC hosted
Summer Pony Camp from June through August during school break.
Camp was taught by Crystal Schroeder, back on summer break from
college in the United States, and Doris Kraushaar, along with
her daughters Rafaela and Yupin, down from Chiang Mai for a few
weeks. Maggie Kimutis also helped with the camp. Summer camp was
held for two hours in the morning and two hours in the
afternoon, Monday-Friday. The kids had an hour of riding and an
hour of stable management.
A
group of middle school Boy Scouts also participated in the
Summer Camp in order to earn their Horsemanship badge.
